Similar to other industries in the world, the game was tied up by the brands that supported it. The 2 brands that controlled 80% of the industry basicallly have followed the same model their entire lives. Manufacture low quality products, with cheap outsourced labor and promote using the biggest athletes on the planet. This sent them on a path to create a brand that represented quality, sustainability, and social responsibility....
where to start?
It was clear that they needed to find a product that was currently being overlooked. With a majority of players (including them) hating to wear shinguards, it was clear that was a good place to start.
While the goal was to create a shinguard that was high performance, it was equally important to integrate sustainable materials and produce them in the USA. After countless prototypes, feedback from professional players, and integrating new materials/design, we finally created the shinguard we would actually want to wear. Sure enough, the perfect material was bamboo....
The goal will remain the same moving forward...bring innovation to the game, while having a foundation of sustainability and quality.
